SOUTH LEAGUE PLAYOFFS 2012
The dates for the South League Playoffs have now been set and are as follows:
Hampshire/Surrey Playoff will take place on Sunday 15th April. This is a single match between the runners up in Hampshire Div 1 and Surrey Div 1. The match will take place at Haslemere HC with a pushback at 2:00 pm.
Kent/Sussex Playoff will take place on Saturday 21st April. This is a single match between the runners up in Kent Div 1 and Sussex Div 1. The match will take place at Holcombe HC with a pushback at 12:15 pm.
The South League Playoffs will take place on Sunday 29th April. This will involve three matches (2 semi-finals and a final on the same day) between the three runners up in the three Regional 1 leagues and the lowest placed team not automatically relegated from South Premier Div 2.
This will take place at Haslemere HC - the schedule for the day will be as follows:
10:30 Semi-Final 1
12:30 Semi-Final 2
14:30 Invitation Match
16:30 Playoff Final

The Trojan Games 2012
The Trojans Easter Hockey festival returns 06-09 April 2012, with unsuprisingly this year a sporting theme. It's a mixed tournament, all on one site for up to 24 team, at a cost of £45 per head, which includes camping, umpires, games, discos, and some food.
Its quite possibly the biggest sporting event this year west of London! - although probably best not to google 'Trojan Games' at work, as this may be career limiting. If you need more info check out the website or email quickly mail@easterhockeyfestival.com, as its first come first served!
Canterbury 31st Annual Hockey Tournament
EASTER 2012 06-09 APRIL
Sees the return of Mixed Hockey to be played as a six-side competition along side the traditional Men's and Ladies 11-a-side. With the inevitable exitement surrouding the Olympics there are no prizes for guessing the theme for the tournament and no doubt the fancy dress will provide opportunity to see the imagination run wild. Visit the website and get in early to avoid disappointment.

FIH RULING ON FACE MASKS
The EHB confirmed today that after consulting with the FIH, the facial protection mask as shown, does not meet the requirement of the Rules of Hockey that: “field players … are permitted to wear a smooth preferably transparent or white but otherwise single coloured face mask which closely fits the face when defending a penalty corner."
